All of us stay awake the whole morning, and CDM bus arrived at 6am. After reach the canteen, preparation was made and there begins our battle of peace, selling while smiling. At first the hungry crowd was not that frightening, but later they blow our stall like hands reaching for you while you walk through the prison. Our hands were struggling in the midst of giving changes, plastics, tissues, and arranging the empty space with more nasi lemak and spoons. Until Florence speak, “Sorry Ma’am Nasi Lemak just finished”. Then we were left nothing to do, and so helping the other stalls. “We should not stop there, find another alternative to sell”, that was Kiw’s order, so Alex and Ms Monica went out and find nasi lemak to be sold. Again, nasi lemak is in high demand, finish in no time.
The whole event was prepared by a team of spirited people, with one aim, fund for the beloved society. Their servant-leadership attitude illustrates their love for the community by sacrificing their time and energy to stay awake and to go to all the trouble of buying things, to love and serve our little community here in Shah Alam, in glorifying God’s name. In line the verse in 1 John 3:16, “We understand what love is when we realize that Christ gave his life for us. That means we must give our lives for other believers.” In each experience, the most important thing is not the result of the event, but rather the process of preparation that each of us went through. The process is the ‘real thing’, and it is important that the ‘real thing’ is enjoyed together, because CSS is not only where each of the excos and members express their talent but also to cultivate the friendship, as CSS is where a place of great friendship begins. And let me end my informal report with God’s word in James 3:18, You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honour.
