The Society comprises of Catholic students who hail mostly from Sabah and Sarawak and studying in UiTM Shah Alam. CSS began sometime in 1980 and 1981 with Ms. Monica Ch'ng as the advisor.
We are currently ministered by Campus Ministry Office of Kuala Lumpur, under the care and guidance of Rev. Fr. Paulino Miranda who appointed Brother Joseph Asim as the pastoral worker of the students affairs (formerly under Rev. Fr. Lawrence Andrew and Rev. Fr. Christopher Wee SJ).
CSS-SA is also a part of the Kuala Lumpur Coordinating Council (KLCC); the representatives for Catholic student bodies. We no longer offer weekly masses at the society's premise in Section 2, Shah Alam (at 6.00pm, every Saturday), instead we'll be joining Church of Divine Mercy every Sunday where bus will be provided.
We also offer weekly gathering called Friday in Togetherness (FIT), starts 7.30pm until 10.30pm.
Activities such as the taize, rosary, novena, session with Brother Lamhot Sagala a catechist from Medan, Indonesia, Uncle Paul Sia, Sr Stella and Sr. Lusiah are available here for students. Every beginning of the terms, the society will always have a welcoming gathering for freshmen. The society's house also acts as the sanctuary for the students during their free time. This is where they meet and gather, a way to keep them reminded of not being alone as they are living far from their families back in Borneo.
